Official Records

What records are available?

Official public records, such as grant deeds, deeds of trust, and liens, recorded in Sacramento County since 1850 are available for viewing at any of our office locations.

Sacramento County’s Official Records index is available online at www.erosi.saccounty.net to perform a search by party name.  Be sure to notate the book and page number if you want to order a copy of the document.

Court records, such as divorce decrees and court orders, are available from the Sacramento Superior Court.  For more information, telephone (916) 874-5522 or visit the website.

How do I request a copy?

Official Record copies may be requested by mail, telephone, fax, or in person at any of our office locations.

To order by mail or fax, complete the copy request form (request alternate format) in its entirety and return it to our office.  The return address and fax number are on the form itself.

How much does a copy cost?

Certified Copies
$13.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page.

Non-Certified Copies
$12.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page.

How do I pay for my copies?

In Person
You may pay by cash, check, money order, American Express, Discover, or MasterCard credit cards, or ATM/debit card. VISA is not accepted for in-person transactions. An additional service fee applies to in-person credit and debit card transactions.

By Mail
You may pay by check, money order, or credit card. A processing fee of $6.00 applies to credit card transactions submitted by mail or fax.  Out of country payments must be made in U.S. dollars.  Make checks payable to: “Sacramento County Clerk/Recorder.”

By Fax
